Snow - the kind that falls in old black and white movies like "It's A Wonderful Life" - began to sift down from the dark winter sky Monday evening, just in time for the holiday tree lighting ceremony at Cottage Grove City Hall. Mayor Myron Bailey officiated with the help of Santa and Mrs. Claus and his grandson, Easton Bailey, 4.

The tree is a Colorado blue spruce that was spaded earlier this year.

"Public works went out and found a perfect tree and planted it just for this event,” Bailey said.
